Ken Jordan was born in the United States.
Ken Jordan led the development and served as founding editorial director of SonicNet.com in 1995, the first multimedia music zine.
Mr. Jordan became creative director of Icon New Media in 1996, publisher of two seminal online magazines: the general interest zine Word.com, and the action sports site Charged.com.
Jordan co-founded the public interest portal MediaChannel.org in 1999, in partnership with Globalvision and the international civil society network OneWorld.net; it was OneWorld’s first U.S. based project.
Jordan edited “Unbalancing Acts: Foundations for a Theater” in 1992, a collection documenting the development of the theatrical work of Richard Foreman, a prominent and sometimes controversial actor and playwright of the late 1980s.
Ken Jordan and co-editor Randall Packer explore the concept of multimedia in their book “Multimedia: From Wagner to Virtual Reality” that came out in 2002. The engineering innovations that have made it progressively easier to reach a state of immersion in the interface between humans and machines are discussed, as are the scientists and artists who have done the work necessary to make this kind of computer-human interaction possible.
Ken also wrote “Toward 2012: Perspectives on the Next Age” with Daniel Pinchbeck in 2008.
Ken Jordan is currently a writer and digital media consultant based in New York, and Director of the Art and Culture Network.
