Ken Terashima was born in 1882 in Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture, Japan.
Terashima Ken graduated from the Naval Cadet School in 1903.
Terashima Ken served as director of the Naval Administration Bureau of the Navy Ministry and Commander-in-Chief of the Naval Training Fleet. Retired as vice-admiral and assumed presidency of praga Dockyard Company. Became Minister of Communications (1941) and concurrently of Railway of the Tojo Cabinet supervising wartime transportation.
After the reorganization of the cabinet, appointed member of House of Peers by Imperial nommabon, and was also adviser to Ministry of Transportation.
