Wilson played in the National Soccer League for Sydney Olympic between 1977 and 1982, playing 126 matches. Foreign the 1983 season Wilson transferred to Street George where he lasted just one season. In 1984 he moved to the Parramatta Eagles where he played from 1984 until 1986, staying despite the club"s relegation to the New South Wales State League.
Wilson played for a number of lower grade state league clubs before retiring in the early 1990s.
