In 1965 he received an Associate of Arts degree from Northern Idaho Junior College. In 1967 he obtained a bachelor degree from Eastern Washington State College. In 1968 he obtained a Master of Science degree from Eastern Washington State College. In 1976 he obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Utah State University.
