Kenneth Wach was born on November 17, 1944, in Waltrop, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. He is the son of Stanislaw Wach.
Wach received a Diploma of Art from Ballarat University in 1965. He then earned a Teachers Certificate from Hawthorn Institute of Education three years later.
In 1971, Wach graduated from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology with another Diploma of Art and then received a master's degree and a doctorate from LaTrobe University in 1984 and 1995, respectively.
From 1970 to 2007, Wach taught art at the University of Melbourne, starting first as a lecturer and leaving the university in the position of Head of the School of Creative Arts. He then worked as a senior art consultant at Menzies Art Brands until 2011, and since then, he works as a freelance art consultant, living in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
During his career, Wach has conducted research at Columbia University and the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Courtauld Institute in London, the Salvador Dalí Teatro-Museo in Figueres, the Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida and the Reina Sofía in Madrid.
Keneth Wach is the author of 11 international texts and 330 items of art historical research, however, he is particularly known as the author of the work, Salvador Dali: Masterpieces from the Collection of the Salvador Dali Museum of 1996.
He has also fulfilled publication contracts for Abrams, the National Gallery of Australia, the National Gallery of Victoria, the State Library of Victoria, Heide Museum of Modern Art, Christies, Deutscher-Menzies Fine Art, the Dalí Teatro Museo, the St. Leopold Bogdan Church, the Dalí Museum, One East Asia-Singapore, Menzies Art Brands, Robert Klippel Estate, Galerie Gmurzynska and Deakin University.
Wach is a member of the Australian Art Association, National Gallery of Australia Society, Art History Association and Salvador Dali Museum Association.
Wach married Denise Brookman on April 29, 1972. The couple has no children.
