Career
Jackson was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. He received his bachelor"s degree from Brigham Young University. Jackson holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Near Eastern Studies from the University of Michigan. Among the books by Jackson are From Apostasy to Restoration and The Restored Gospel and the Book of Genesis.
Jackson was also the editor of the 1996 publications of Solomon Spaulding"s Manuscript Foundation.
Jackson is a Latter-day Saint. Among other church positions he has served on the Gospel Doctrine lesson-writing committee.
