Career
He played linebacker an wide receiver in high school. He was rated by Rivals.com as a three-star recruit and committed to the University of Missouri to play college football. After redshirting his first year at Missouri in 2011 due to an injury, Brothers played in 11 games as a redshirt freshman in 2012 and recorded 14 tackles.
As a sophomore in 2013, Brothers became a starter and started all 14 games.
He finished the year with 70 tackles, three interceptions and one sack. As a junior in 2014 he had a team-leading 122 tackles.
