Career
Kennerley played in the Arsenal youth team, helping them to lift the FA Youth Cup in 1971 with a 2–0 aggregate victory over Cardiff City. However he never played a first team game for the "Gunners", and swapped Highbury for Turf Moor when he joined Burnley in 1975. He played six First Division games for Jimmy Adamson"s "Clarets" in the 1975-1976 season, scoring one goal.
He joined Roy Sproson"s Portuguese Vale in May 1976.
However he featured just once in the 1977-1978 season, and was instead loaned to John Toshack"s Swansea City in February 1978. He played two Fourth Division games at Vetch Field.
The move failed to revitalize his career and he was given a free transfer in May 1978. He later played for Stafford Rangers (Northern Premier League), Nantwich Town and Droylsden.
