Career
Before turning professional, McLeod played junior hockey in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL), and also suited up with Cornell University of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. McLeod played three seasons (2007 - 2010) in the Central Hockey League (CHL) with the Texas Brahmas, scoring 46 goals and 68 assists for 114 points, while earning 201 penalty minutes, in 168 games played. McLeod played two seasons (2010 – 2012) in the Danish Alabama-Bank Ligaen, where he distinguished himself during the 2010-2011 season as the most penalized player in the league, registering 131 penalty minutes while playing 35 games with Copenhagen Hockey.
