Career
He made his professional head-coaching debut at age 23 in Dublin, Ireland, with the Shamrock Rovers. Returning to the states, he served as assistant coach at Utah Valley University, where he helped lead the team to its second most wins in a season. Young"s own basketball career started in Marietta, Georgia, where he played high school ball at Sprayberry High School under Coach Roger Kvam.
After high school, Young attended Middle Georgia College.
After 2 years, he transferred to Clayton State University where he was a stand out guard. He is still an all-time leader for field goals, assists and three-point shooting.
Young is married to Melissa Bailey of Omaha, Nebraska and they have two sons.
