Howard moved with his family to the United States in the early 1950s. He began his career in the entertainment industry as a child playing piano and singing for the United Service Organizations. In Los Angeles and Las Vegas, he worked with Bob Hope, Dinah Shore, Bing Crosby, and National King Cole. Working with Ernie Kovacs, Howard was one of the original.

In 1987, Howard helped form the Convention and Meeting Division of Technology Skorman Productions. He is an active participant in the film industry, serving on the boards of FMPTA, the Screen Actors Guild and American Federation TV and Radio Artists. A working actor, he has appeared in many national commercials, television shows and motion pictures, including RoboDoc, Ernest Saves Christmas and From the Earth to the Moon.
