Career
Born in Tripoli in Lebanon, he later migrated to Australia, where he became a mail officer with Australia Post (1975-1979). From 1987 to 2006 he was the Managing Director of Bluestar Logistics Freight Company. In 2006, he was elected to the Victorian Legislative Council as a Labor member for Western Metropolitan Region.
He has served on a number of Committees with the Parliament of Victoria and now serves as an Acting President of the Legislative Council.
Khalil is a supporter of the Essendon Football Club.
