Khamzat OSMIEV, USSR Ingush poet, writer, translator and teacher.
OSMIEV, Khamzat was born in 1909 in village Kantyshevo, Chechcno-Ingushetia.
Worked for newspaper “Serdalo” and other local publications. Translated into Ingush Pushkin’s “Kapitanskaya dochka” (The Captains Daughter), Gorky's “Mat” (Mother) and. “Chelkash”, and a number of other works by Russ, classic and Soviet writers.
1960 translated into Ingush Lenin’s “Ot Fevralya к Oktyabryu” (From February to October), “Imperialisticheskaya voyna 1914-1918 gg.” (The 1914-1918 Imperialist War), etc. 1944 deported to Central Asia with all Chechen-Ingush and Karachay-Balkars. 1957 returned to Northern Caucasus.
