Career
He was Commander of Ghazni in 2009 and Commander of Kandahar Province from 2009 to 2011. On April 11, 2011, he was killed in a suicide bombing at the Kandahar headquarters. He had been marginalized from positions of government authority and influence during the war.
His appointment marked one of the few occasions on which a powerful provincial post was given to an Alokozai.
