Zandt, Khleber Miller Van was born on November 7, 1836 in Franklin Company, Tennessee, United States. Son of Isaac and Frances Cooke (Lipscomb) V.
Began in banking business in Fort Worth, Texas, 1874. President Fort Worth National Bank, since 1884. Member Texas House of Representatives, 1873.
He served in the Confederate States Army during the United States. Civil War, and after the war was active in the United Confederate Veterans. He settled in Fort Worth in 1865, and operated a dry-goods business and later became president of both a construction company and a bank. Van Zandt was a Democrat, and was elected to the Thirteenth Texas Legislature, 1873-1874.
Served as Second lieutenant, major, C.S.A., 1861-1865.
Married 3d, Octavia Pendleton, October 8, 1885.
