NIKOLAY, Kholmshchina was born in 1884 in Galicia.
Recieved his educational in Belgium.
1909 ordained priest. After returning to Galicia worked at Redcmptory Fathers’ monastery at Zboiski (near L’vov) and did missionary work. 1931 consecrated bishop and appoined Apostolic visitor for Volhynia, Kholmshchina and Podles’ye, based in Kovel.
1945 arrested by State Security organs for opposing transition to Orthodoxy in accordance with campaign to liquidate Greek-Catholic Church in Western Ukraine. Sentenced to forced labor and exiled to Siberia. 1953 released and returned to Western Ukraine.
Could not resume his clerical duties since the Greek-Catholic Church was officially abolished.
