Kichitoku Isomura studied mathematics under Yoshitane Takahara.
Career
Kichitoku Isomura was appointed Castellan of Nihonmatsu Castle, with the rank of a magistrate and fief of 100 koku. Helped lay the water pipes to supply water to the Castle from Mt. Adachi Taro. His work titled Sampo Ketsugisho became a text book for students of mathematics and his theory of calculating cubic volume won him great fame. It seems he influenced Takakazu Seki to some extent. His followers later came to be known as students of the Isomura school.
