Kichizo Karashima graduated from the Political Department, Tokyo University (1928).
Kichizo Karashima was a director of Tokyo Shimbun and editorial staff member in charge of the "Hissen" column. Entered the Kokumin Shiwbun and became chief of the Political Department (1936), promoted to editor in chief but retired after dissolution of the company (1940). Took charge of management of Kita Nihon Shimbun (North Japan News) for a while but changed to the Tokyo Shimbun (1943), serving also as director.
