He graduated from Tokyo University in 1911 and then studied economics at Postgraduate Department of the same university.
He entered Bank of Japan and served as inspector and chief of Kosa-bu (Examination Department). He transferred to Manshu Chuo Ginko (Manchuria Central Bank) and became director and then vice-president in 1940. After the war was elected mayor of Kiryii City but resigned that post when he was purged from public profession.
He held additional posts of chairman of Kiryti Municipal Chamber of Commerce & Industry, president of Ogiri Soko Kaisha (Ogiri Warehouse Company) and official of a few local industrial organizations.
