Kim was known as a confessor of some civilian massacres of the
Kim Ki-tae was an Republic of Korea Marine Corps captain and commanded the Seventh Company, Second Battalion, 2nd Marine Brigade during the Kim confessed to Hankyoreh in 2000 that some South Korean marines committed massacres of Vietnamese civilians. His company conducted some massacres during Operation Dragon Eye (Yong Anh Plan) in 1966.
