Education
Kim received his Bachelor of Surgery degree from Seoul National University (1976), Master of Surgery degree from of Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, 1978, advisor: Professor Mu Shik Jon), and Doctor of Philosophy degree from Stanford University (1986. Advisor: Professor James P Collman). After two year postdoctoral work at Northwestern University (advisor: Professor James A Ibers) he started his own academic career at the Department of Chemistry, Pohang University of Science and Technology (Pohang University of Science and Technology) in 1988 where he is now Distinguished University Professor (Pohang University of Science and Technology Fellow).
