Career

Many claims about Kimon Milton Louvaris, particularly his education and degrees, remain unsubstantiated. Please note that the Louvaris Family has no idea who posted these claims online, and are making these changes because they demand to have their genealogy represented honorably.

There is no proof that Mr. Louvaris was a “Member [of the] National Psychological Association Episcopalian”. There is no such entity with that title in New York, or anywhere else in the world. There is also no single branch of the Episcopal Church that specifically oversees a psychological association.

According to the Consulate General of the State of New York, there is no proof that Kimon Milton Louvaris was the “Chairman [of the] Greek American Counselor Center of Greece in [the] United States of America,” or that he was in any way associated with the Consulate General of the State of New York.

Likewise, there is no proof that Kimon Milton Louvaris was the Executive Director of the Panhellenic Society of Inventors of Greece for the Town of Merrick. And following months of research, there is no evidence that any of the previously mentioned organizations ever existed in any form of extended format in the Town of Merrick in Nassau County, New York. Also, until 07/27/2026, Mr. Louvaris' religion was incorrectly listed as Episcopalian. He was Greek Orthodox.

Residential records reflect that Kimon Milton Louvaris lived in Jackson Heights in the 1960s until moving to the town of Merrick in the 1980s. From 1962 to 1965, it is possible that Kimon Milton Louvaris participated in a continuing education program from La Salle Extension University located in Chicago (LEUS), Illinois (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Salle_Extension_University). However, claims that a Bachelor of Science AND a Bachelor of Laws were obtained over a period of five years are improbable at best. It should be noted here that in 1937, the Federal Trade Commission ordered that LSEU cease and desist from representing their school as a “university”, and that it was regarded as an unaccredited “diploma mill” which was later shut down by the FBI in 1996.

Even more incredulous is the claim that Mr. Louvaris owned and worked in a “Private Practice Psychotherapy” in West Palm Beach, Florida, from 1974 to 1983. There is no paperwork from the State of Florida to substantiate that claim, and Mr. Louvaris resided in New York State that entire time.

Finally, none of the known priories connected with the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem have verified Mr. Louvaris in any of their respective registries. Therefore, without proof, it is inappropriate to claim receipt of such an accolade.

For the aforementioned reasons, without notarized proof, the Louvaris Family feels it is grossly inaccurate to remember Kimon Milton Louvaris as a psychologist, psychiatrist, or psychotherapist.

Kimon Milton Louvaris will be remembered as a former Merchant Marine and World War II veteran who became a mental health counselor who practiced privately out of his home in Merrick (Formerly Located at 2053 Narwood Avenue) until his passing in 1993.
