Kinashi no-Karu-no-Oji was installed Crown Prince during the 23rd year of his father’s reign (434). A handsome youth and a great favorite of his father, a colony was established specially for him and his followers in Yamato, Nara Prefecture, and was named after him as Karube. Kinashi no-Karu-no-Oji lost favor with his father later on due to a love affair, and after his father’s death he was attacked by Prince Anaho and sought sanctuary with Sukune Mononobe. Some reports state that he died there, while others aver that he was exiled to Dogo, Iyo (Ehime Prefecture), from where history lost touch with him.
