He began managing Tomoe-Gumi Civil Engineering & Construction Company (1906) and later became its representative (1916). When that association was reorganized into a joint-stock company he was appointed its president (1920).
Thereafter served successively as president of Naikoku Tsuun Kaisha (Naikoku Transportation Company), Taihoku Fire & Marine Transportation Company and Kokusai Tsuun Kaisha (Kokusai Transportation Company), vice-chairman of Tokyo Chamber of Commerce & Industry and counselor of Nihon Tsuun Kaisha (Japan Express Company) and then became director of same company (1932).
He separated Serapakubu (Shipping Department) of Tomoe-Gumi Company and made it into Tomoe-Gumi Steamship Company becoming its president (1937) and then became president of Koa itasai Kayo Hoken Kaisha (Koa Fire & Marine Insurance Company) and president of Nakano Kisen Kaisha (Nakano Steamship Company) (since 1944).
He became auditor of Nihon Dantai Seimei Hoken Kaisha (Japan Group Life Insurance Company)(1944) and counselor of Osaka Soda Company (1949).
He holds additional posts of director of Asahi Reizo Kogyo Kaisha (Asahi Cold-Storage Industry Company), counselor of Nihon Tsuun Kaisha and Naigai Yuso Kaisha (Naigai Transportation Company), senior managing director of Nihon Kogyo Kurabu (Japan Industry Club), director of Nihon Songai Hoken Kyokai (Japan Damage Insurance Company), counselor of Nikkeiren (Federation of Japan Employers' Associations) and member of Nihon Boekikai (Japan Foreign Trade Society).
