She was elected Deputy Speaker of the House unopposed. She held the post until the end of the term of the Assembly in 2003. The late Minister’s constituents in Tosham, near Bhiwani, demanded that someone from the illustrious family should take over the reins of the constituency in the wake of loss of the 59-year-old son of the former Chief Minister.
