Tenekedjiev received a Masters of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in Ship Machinery and Equipment from the Technical University of Varna in 1986. Tenekedjiev began his professorial career at Technical University of Varna in 1987, where he was Lecturer in the department of resistance of the materials. Following a lectureship at Technical University of Varna from 1997 to 2003.
Tenekedjiev visited lecturer at Medical University of Varna, in Automated Systems for Data Analysis and Management, Department of Technique and Technology for Water and Air Protection.
He became a professor at the Technical University of Varna in 2008.
In 2008 he became a Senior Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. In 2007 he was awarded Fulbright Senior Scholar for research and lecturing at Bingamton University, State University of New York, United States of America 2007 In 2006 he was awarded certificate for a scientist, subject of biographical record in Who’s Who in the World, 23rd Edition 2006 In 2001 he was awarded with Award of Merit Medal Foreign People with Good Hearts.
In 2008 he became a Senior Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
