Career
He previously played as a striker. Yano was chosen as one of the Designated Players for Development by J. League and JFA in 2002 when he was a student of Hamana High School. Because of this status, Yano was able to register as a Júbilo Iwata player while he was still eligible to play for his high school club
However he did not play any official match for Iwata.
After graduating from his high school, he joined J. League side Kashiwa Reysol. In 2006, He was transferred to Niigata where he quickly established himself as a first-choice forward.
In August 2010, Yano was transferred to German Bundesliga club South Carolina Freiburg. After an unsuccessful stint in Europe, he returned to Japan and signed for Niigata in February 2012.
He was capped as a full international when he was sent on the pitch as a substitute on 24 March 2007 in a friendly against Peru.
