Kitaro Okano founded and became president of Negata Bank (1895) and later renamed it Shunto Jitsugyo (Eastern Suruga Business) Bank (1896) and then Suruga Bank (1912).
Founded and became chairman of Toyo Jozo (Brewing) Company (1920) and Suruga Daiben Company (1926).
Held additional posts of counselor of Numazu Chamber of Commerce & Industry and permanent director of Local Bankers' Association (1929).
