Background
Businessman and Diet member. Born in Tochigi Prefecture. Graduated from Tokyo College of Pharmacy (1930) and then entered Kojima Chemical Industry Company. Became vice-chairman of Board of Trustees of Tokyo Licensed Pharmacists' Association (1934). Elected to House of Representatives from Tochigi Prefecture (1952). Founded Daiichi Kagaku Kogyojo (1st Chemical Industry Institute) (1936) and, when it was merged into Kanto Chemical Industry Company, Ltd., became manager of that company (1944). President of Kanto Chemical Industry Company, Ltd. (since 1948). Serves also as chairman of Board of Trustees of Tokyo College of Pharmacy.
