Career
Entered Royal Welsh Fusiliers, 1849. Served in Bulgaria and Crimea. At battle of Alma; before Sebastojiol.

Sir Henry Lytton Bulwer, 1856- 1857. In Danubian Principalities.
Went to India on outbreak of Mutiny, 1857. Present at siege and capture of Lucknow.
Selected for command of special column, 1858.
Captured Selimpore Fort. Also commanded in two other successful engagements, Jubrowlee and Poorwah (mentioned in despatches. Made a Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel and C. B.).
