Career
He took the candidate.philol. degree in his education, and started working for the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1980. He served as consul-general in Murmansk from 1993 to 1994, as the Norwegian ambassador to Poland from 2005 to 2008, and Norwegian ambassador to Russia since 2008 to 2013. He presenting his credentials to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on 27 February 2009.
