Kohei Yusa was born on July 25, 1883 in Miyagi, Japan.
Kohei Yusa studied at the Military Academy.
After graduating from Military Academy was commissioned a sublieutenant in the Imperial Cavalry (1904) to become major general (1935).
Kohei Yusa is internationally known as an equestrian. Took part in the Olympic Horse Riding events in Amsterdam (1928) and Los Angeles (1932) and was appointed one of the judges for the same event in Berlin (1936) and at the Helsinki Olympics (1952).
He was an adviser to Japan Equestrian Society. Among his works are "Horsemanship and Horses" and a translation of Phillips' "Principles of Horsemanship."
