Koichiro Shiokawa, Japanese biologist, educator, academic administrator. Achievements include discovery of activiation of Ribonucleic acid transcription during cleavage stage and execution in SAMDC-expressed protein synthesis-inhibited embryos in early embryonic development of an African clawed toad. Researcher Takeda Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., Osaka, Japan, 1969—1972. Visiting scientist New York Blood Center Cell Biology Laboratory, New York City, 1972—1974.

Full professor faculty science University Tokyo, 1989—2001, professor emeritus, since 2001. Lecturer Daiichi Pharmaceutical University, Fukuoka, 2001—2002, Daiichi Welfare University, Fukuoka, since 2002.
