Career
After graduating from Keio University proceeded to America for further studies (1885). Upon return joined the Furukawa Concern and from a manager (1899) rose to general manager of Furukawa Mining Company (1905) and senior managing director of the entire Furukawa interests (1917). Was also associated with several other companies aside from being president of Teikoku Life Insurance Company (1922).
