He was a disciple of Jinen-koji.
Career
Koji Togan was chief priest of Ungoji Temple, Kyoto, during the Karnakura Period. It is said he wore ordinary clothes, did not shave his head as was the custom of priests, and sometimes used to beat drums and dance with a fan to attract devotees to his religious lectures.
