Kokishi Takada was born on November 7, 1911 in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan.
He joined Shochiku Film Company (1926) and soon became a star in his own right (1930), playing major roles in such pictures as Naniwa Onna (Women of Osaka), Okoto-to Sasuke, Tojin Okichi (Okichi and the Foreigner) and Koina-no Ginpei (Ginpei-a man's name-of Koina-the name of a place). He left the screen to float a theatrical company (1945) but returned to the cinema after his theatrical venture failed (1950).
