1898 began career as librarian. Worked at library of Minister of Finance. After 1917 October Revol worked at library of Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics People's Commissariat of Finance.
Toward end of life head librarian, Russian Association of Social Sciences Research Institute. His major work was a bibliography of Russian reviews in 325 Russian periodicals from 1850 to 1928 (some 300,000 titles in his unpublished card index).
