1904 graduate Tiflis Infantry College. 1912 graduate General Staff Academy.
From 1900 in Russian Army. Fought in 1904-1905 Russolapanese War. During World War 1 staff posts with 1st and 10th Armies.
From February 1917 chief of staff, 31 st Infantry Division. 27 July 1917 appointed chief of staff, Moscow Military district. From 2 September 1917 commander, Moscow Military district.
During 1917 October Revol commanded armed forces in Moscow against Bolsheviks. 2 November 1917 dismissed by Military Revol Committee. Went to Khar’kov and worked for Menshevik newspaper.
Late June 1919, after Volunteer Army occupied Khar’kov, arrested on charges of attacking General Kornilov and offering only half-hearted resistance to Bolsheviks in October 1917.
