Career
From 1899 dissector, Chair of Descriptive Anatomy. From 1919 assistant professor, from 1922 associate professor, Chair of Operative Surgery, Leningrad Institute of Medical Knowledge. From 1927 head, Chair of Faculty Surgical Clinic, Yakutsk Medical Institute.
During World War 2 devised original methods of closing external fecal fistulae by extraperitoneal means and a radical treatment of venous aneurysm. Foreign the last 26 years of his life worked on surgery of the stomach and esophagus. Made a precise topographical study of the stomach’s ligamentous apparatus and devised new methods for the surgical treatment of ulcers and cancer of the stomach.
Justified total resection of the stomach for any localization of gastric cancer. Wrote over 60 works.
