Kosai was a Buddhist priest of Jodo Sect. Records show that he was also known as Jokakubo, who earlier lived at Mount Hiei and later became a disciple of St. Honen.
Background
Kosai was born circa 1250.
Religion
Kosai is the father of the Ichinengi doctrine of Jodo Sect. This doctrine expounds the theory that Buddha’s earnest desire to redeem the world and people’s faith stemmed from the same source.
