Kotomichi Okuma was a poet. Although his waka were appreciated by a small circle and he had some disciples, he was not well known. He scorned the works of his contemporary poets as deku-uta, or songs of blockheads. His poems were appreciated by subsequent generations.

Kotomichi Okuma was born in 1798.
Education
Kotomichi Okuma studied waka and calligraphy under Sokin Futagawa. Lived in Osaka for 12 years from 1857.
