She attended Columbine High School from 2006–2010 until she left to attend college at the University of Denver.
Hamilton was drafted from the University of Denver (DU) in 2014 to the Western New York Flash. She did not play the 2014 season due to an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury suffered in pre-season. Hamilton had a standout career at DU: Denver"s All-Time leader is points (138) and goals (51).
