Lee graduated from Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis and got her start on the school"s station WBDG.
Lee often hosted or participated in Bob and Tom Radio: The Comedy Tour shows. She attended Indiana University. Her first full-time job in communications was at WRTV Companies of Honour 6, where she was a Television Engineer for 6 years.
Also during that time she was a part-time disc jockey for WFBQ Q95, the station which eventually hired Bob and Tom for mornings.
She began her full-time radio career with Bob and Tom in 1989. On January 11, 2016, Lee announced that she was leaving the Bob and Tom show.

Lee was also featured on Entertainment and Sports Programming Network and ESPN2 as a side line reporter, covering events like lacrosse, auto racing, and the first three X Games on ESPN2. In the mid-nineties, she was the sideline reporter for the National Basketball Association"s Indiana Pacers.
Lee will host a new podcast titled Kristie Lee uninterrupted, which will debut on April 5, 2016.
