Lecturer Stockholm University, 1978-1984, senior lecturer, 1984-1986, associate professor, 1986-1998, professor, since 1998, vice dean faculty of humanities, 2000—2003. Expert advisor Swedish National Board of Education, 1983-1990, Southwest National Institute for Developing Teaching Materials, 1986-1999, World Federal of the Deaf, 1992-1996. Vice president Stockholm Academy Forum.

Board directors Swedish Fulbright Commission.
