Winberg sold advertising for the Jönköpings-Posten newspaper for 8 years, was a travel agent for 15 years, and then became a nursing assistant caring for people with dementia. Winberg was launched as her party"s top candidate to the European Parliament on 27 January 2014.
In 2010 she was a candidate for the Riksdag. She has been a member of the city council in Jönköping Municipality since 2010. On 25 May 2014, Winberg and Peter Lundgren became the first representatives of the party to be elected Members of the European Parliament.
