Kube Iso accompanied the briae-to-be of Sadakatsu Uesugi to Yonezawa from Kyoto, and for a time was protected by the Lord of Yonezawa. Later, however, the lord was approached by Lord Chikugo Inoue to hand him over (1650), but in between he had changed his original name Yamaura into Kube Iso and sought shelter with a friend. Later, by order of the Shogun’s minister was put to death in the precincts of Gokurakuji Temple on the outskirts of Yonezawa City.
