Hara Kunimichi graduated from Tokyo University in 1916.
Career
Hara Kunimichi entered Ministry of Finance and served as director of the Osaka Tax Supervision Bureau, of the Tokyo Tax Supervision Bureau and Vice-director of the Manchurian Affairs Bureau. Left the Ministry, and entered the business field. Appointed Vice-president of the Japan Steel Works and then Vice-governor of the Japan Stock Exchange. Invited by the Nomura Zaibatsu and became president of the Nomura Bank and concurrently chairman of the Nomura Securities Company and of the Nomura Life Insurance Company. After the war, purged, but on being reinstated, assuming the present post. He was managing director of the Japan Employers Federation.
