Education
He learned kyoka (satirical waka) under Magao Shikatsube and classics under Norinaga Moto-ori. He later taught his disciples at Yotsuya in Edo.
Career
Served Tam- banokami Yagi, magistrate in Kofu (Yama- nashi Prefecture). After resigning from the Shogunate service, he toured many provinces. Wrote many books which contain opinions which are valuable to students of Japanese language and literature.
