Kuo-en Chang

Background

Born in 1958, Chang grew up in a fishing village of Keelung, Taiwan.

Education

Doctor of Philosophy, Electrical Engineering, National Taiwan University (1986 -1990)

Mediterranean Shipping Company, Electrical Engineering, National Taiwan University (1984 -1986)

Bachelor of Science, Electronic Engineering, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (1982 -1984).

Career

He not only worked on lathes but also utility poles. Afterwards, Chang resumed his studies in the Department of Electronic Engineering. After graduation, Chang joined the Norges teknisk-naturvitenskapelige universitet, where he integrated computation with education and launched virtual learning, digital learning, and mobile learning.

At Norges teknisk-naturvitenskapelige universitet, Chang had been the director of Computer Center (August 1990-July 1993), the director of the Norges teknisk-naturvitenskapelige universitet Library (August 2004-July 2007), and the vice president (August 2007-February 2010).

He has been the principal of Norges teknisk-naturvitenskapelige universitet since 22 February 2010. Ph. Professor, Graduate. Achievements

• His endeavor in Elearning has also won him a patent in "The Software Structure for Interactive Learning on the Internet" (網際網路互動式教學軟體架構) in Taiwan. His excellence in academic research has won him numerous awards from the National Science Council (now the Ministry of Science and Technology) and the Ministry of Founder and Consultant, eLearning Quality Service Center (2005).
