Soon became a follower of the Tenri sect and proceeded to Tokyo as a missionary. At Tokyo Kuraji Kashiwagi was appointed director of Tokyo Education Branch Office as well as instructor at Nihon University.
Kuraji Kashiwagi entered politics as a member of Ryokufukai, was elected to House of Councilors twice.
